AIK have rewarded Stanley Wilson's impressive development with a contract extension until December 31, 2029, extending his previous deal that was set to expire in summer 2027.
The 19-year-old Kenyan midfielder has established himself as a regular starter under José Riveiro this season, featuring in all matches leading up to the summer break. Wilson has made 18 competitive appearances for AIK's first team since joining the club in August 2024 following a successful trial period.
"He has surprised everyone with his development during the season," recruitment chief Miika Takkula said, according to AIK Fotboll. Takkula particularly praised Wilson's work ethic on the training ground as a key factor in his rapid progress.
Wilson's journey at AIK included a loan spell to Enköpings SK during autumn 2025, where he gained valuable experience with nine appearances and one goal in Division 1 Norra. The temporary move proved beneficial as he returned to Solna ready to compete for a first-team place.
The young midfielder has contributed two assists in his AIK appearances so far, showcasing his creative abilities in the heart of midfield. His rise from trialist to key player exemplifies AIK's commitment to developing young talent and identifying potential in unexpected places.
