Djurgården midfielder Mikael Anderson has opened up about potential broken promises that could lead to his departure from the Stockholm club this summer.

The 27-year-old Icelandic international, who joined Djurgården from Danish side AGF last summer for a significant fee, suggested that commitments made during his recruitment have not been honored.

"When I came to the club there were some things that were promised that maybe haven't been completely kept," Anderson told Danish broadcaster Viaplay. "That's maybe also why we've had these conversations."

The midfielder, who has a contract running until summer 2029, declined to elaborate on specific details but hinted at changes following the departure of former sporting director Bosse Andersson.

"When I moved here there was a different sporting director. He's gone. Maybe some things that had been talked about disappeared," Anderson explained.

Despite the uncertainty, Anderson expressed his affection for the club and city. "I really love being at the club, and the supporters are fantastic. It's a fantastic place to play, the city is fantastic."

The attacking midfielder's 2026 season has been disrupted by injury during international duty, keeping him out for much of the spring. Upon his return, he scored against both Sirius and Brommapojkarna, though both matches ended in defeats for Djurgården.

According to Expressen, several foreign clubs have expressed interest in the player as discussions continue between Anderson and Djurgarden about a potential summer departure.
