Gudmundsson Arrives at World Cup Feeling the Freshest He Has in Years
Gabriel Gudmundsson has not played much football lately. But right now, in Dallas ahead of Sweden's World Cup opener against Tunisia, that might actually be working in his favour.

The Leeds United left back returned from injury just last Thursday, playing just over an hour in Sweden's final warm-up match against Greece. It was his first appearance in more than five weeks. Yet Gudmundsson says his body feels better than it has for a long time.
"We have played a lot during the season, so it has been nice to slow down a bit. I have honestly not felt this fresh in a very, very long time. That is also a positive part of it," Gudmundsson told Fotbollskanalen.
He is expected to start as Sweden's left wingback under Graham Potter, and he says the minutes against Greece went exactly to plan.
"It was about five weeks, maybe a little more, since I last played a match. It was a good dose to get in. The rhythm was perhaps not the best but the most important thing was to get going," he said.
Gudmundsson is confident he will be ready for 90 minutes when Sweden face Tunisia on 14 June.
"I feel one hundred percent fit to play the match. Then we will see what Graham does, of course. But I hope to play," – Gabriel Gudmundsson, speaking to Fotbollskanalen.
