BK Häcken have completed their biggest transfer deal in club history after agreeing to sell midfielder Silas Andersen to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.

The 21-year-old Danish midfielder had been attracting interest from several clubs before Sporting emerged as the frontrunners for his signature. According to Aftonbladet, the Gothenburg-based club confirmed the record-breaking sale.

"We are very happy and proud of this record deal, both regarding the sum and the dignity of the club we are selling to, it is another receipt that our strategic plan is working," football director Martin Ericsson told the club's official website.

Andersen joined Häcken from Dutch side Utrecht ahead of the 2023 season and quickly established himself as a key player for the Allsvenskan outfit. During his time in Sweden, the midfielder made 64 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists.

The move to Sporting Lisbon represents a significant step up for Andersen, who will now compete in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and potentially European competitions. Sporting are one of Portugal's most successful clubs and regularly feature in the Champions League.

"I am incredibly happy for the time at BK Häcken, where I have met and gotten to know many fine people but also for all the support I have received that has given me the opportunity to develop," Andersen said following the transfer confirmation.
