Swedish striker Isaac Kiese Thelin has officially left Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds and is now a free agent, the club has confirmed.

The 35-year-old forward joined the J-League side during the summer of 2025 from Malmö FF but has now decided to move on after less than a year in Japan. During his stint with Urawa Red Diamonds, Kiese Thelin managed five goals in approximately 20 appearances.

In a farewell message, the veteran striker thanked the club's supporters, management, and teammates for his time at the club. He was particularly complimentary about the atmosphere surrounding Urawa Red Diamonds, describing it as "among the very best I have experienced in my career," according to Swedish media.

Kiese Thelin's move to Japan came after a challenging period at Malmö FF, where he started just eight of the team's 18 Allsvenskan matches during his most recent spell. This marked his third separate stint with the Skåne club throughout his career.

The experienced forward boasts an impressive CV, having previously played for clubs including IFK Norrköping, Bordeaux, Anderlecht, Bayer Leverkusen, and Turkish side Kasimpasa. As a free agent, he is now available to sign with any club without a transfer fee, making him an attractive option for teams seeking attacking reinforcements.
