Malmö FF have made contact with former striker Amin Sarr to explore a potential return to the Allsvenskan champions ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Gasetten, the Swedish giants have sounded out the possibility of bringing back the 25-year-old on a loan deal from Serie B side Hellas Verona.
Malmö have directly contacted Sarr to gauge his interest in a comeback, though no formal negotiations are currently underway and the player's stance on a potential return remains unclear.
Sarr's journey since leaving Malmö in winter 2022 has been a rollercoaster ride through European football. The striker initially moved to Dutch side Heerenveen before earning a big-money transfer to Lyon for over 100 million kronor. However, his career trajectory stalled with subsequent moves to Wolfsburg and then Hellas Verona.
The forward endured a difficult campaign in Italy's top flight last season, failing to score in 1,086 minutes of Serie A action while primarily operating as a central striker. Overall, he managed just four goals and two assists across 68 appearances for Verona.
With Hellas Verona relegated and Sarr still having three years remaining on his contract, a loan move could benefit all parties involved in what would be a remarkable homecoming story.
