Malmö FF have emerged as potential suitors for Djurgården winger Mikael Anderson, according to Danish media reports that suggest the Swedish champions are closely monitoring the Iceland international's situation.
According to Fotbollskanalen, Danish outlet Bold reports that Malmö are among several clubs showing concrete interest in the 27-year-old, alongside Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah.
Anderson, who joined Djurgården from Danish club AGF in 2025 for approximately 20 million kronor, has previously acknowledged ongoing discussions about his future with the Stockholm club. The winger has expressed concerns that certain promises made during former sporting director Bosse Andersson's tenure have not been fully fulfilled.
"When I came to the club there were certain things that were promised, but which perhaps haven't quite been completely fulfilled," Anderson said, while also describing Djurgården as a club he "loves being at."
The potential transfer faces several obstacles, according to Danish media. Malmö currently lack a permanent head coach following recent changes, while Djurgården may be reluctant to strengthen a direct Allsvenskan rival.
Anderson has also left the door open for a potential return to Denmark, specifically mentioning AGF as a future option when he eventually returns to Danish football. The Iceland international's situation remains fluid as the summer transfer window approaches.
