MFF management handed down internal punishment to player who violated club policies, excluding him from training and team selection

Malmö FF have confirmed that one of their players was suspended from training and made unavailable for selection after breaking the club's disciplinary regulations.

Football director Daniel Andersson addressed the situation during a members' meeting on Tuesday evening, revealing that the player in question had violated internal club policies and faced immediate consequences.

"At that moment it was very important to maintain focus on one thing and that was to win the match," Andersson said, speaking to Expressen.

The Allsvenskan club, currently sitting in ninth place as they head into the summer break after a disappointing spring campaign, have remained tight-lipped about the specific details of the incident and any additional sanctions that may have been imposed.

Andersson declined to elaborate on the decision-making process behind the suspension. "I don't want to comment on that. We handle these matters internally," he told the Swedish publication.

Club chairman Zlatko Rihter also maintained the organization's stance on confidentiality while confirming that established procedures were followed. "We have policies that must be followed. If you don't follow them, you face the punishment outlined in our guidelines. That's all I can say," Rihter stated.

The identity of the suspended player has not been disclosed by the club, which continues to deal with internal matters behind closed doors as they prepare for the second half of the season.
