Mjällby AIF are preparing for what could be a transformative summer transfer window, with sporting director Hasse Larsson confirming that two formal bids have already landed at the club.

"Bids have come in for Elliot and Ludwig, and the clubs mentioned in the press reports are correct," – Hasse Larsson, speaking to Fotbollskanalen.

According to Fotbollskanalen, Italian Serie A side Genoa have submitted an offer for winger Elliot Stroud, while Swiss club Basel have tabled a bid for defender Ludwig Malachowski Thorell. Larsson noted that negotiations are still ongoing and the two parties remain some distance apart in their valuations.

Stroud is attracting the most attention, with clubs from Germany and Turkey also reported to be monitoring the Swedish winger. Larsson made no secret of his expectation that a deal will be done. "I believe Stroud will leave this summer," he said, adding that the club's preference is for him to move to one of Europe's top five leagues.

Beyond those two, Larsson revealed that Mjällby are also anticipating offers for midfielder Abdullah Iqbal, forward Abdoulie Manneh, and defender Tony Miettinen before the window closes. The potential departure of multiple key players represents a significant challenge for the Allsvenskan club, who are also set to compete in European football for the first time in their history this summer.

Despite acknowledging the likelihood of further interest, Larsson struck a cautiously optimistic tone when it comes to the wider squad. "I hope it's only him who leaves," he said, referring to Stroud — a comment that underlines just how central the remaining players are to Mjällby's ambitions both domestically and on the European stage.
