Örgryte IS have officially confirmed the signing of 29-year-old full-back Adam Andersson, who returns to Swedish top-flight football after several years in Scandinavia's other leagues. The contract runs through the 2028 season, giving the Gothenburg club long-term stability at the back.

According to Fotbollskanalen, the deal was made official on Monday, with the club confirming the arrival of a player who knows Allsvenskan well.

Andersson spent six years at BK Häcken, one of Sweden's most ambitious clubs based in Gothenburg, before moving to Norwegian giants Rosenborg in 2021. He then crossed into Denmark, turning out for both Randers and Lyngby before his most recent spell at Aalborg, where he made 15 league appearances last season.

The move represents a return home in more ways than one for Andersson. Having built his foundations in Swedish football before testing himself abroad in Norway and Denmark, he now arrives at Örgryte — a historic Gothenburg club that earned promotion back to Allsvenskan — bringing a wealth of Scandinavian experience to their defensive options.

Örgryte, one of the oldest football clubs in Sweden and based in the Örgryte district of Gothenburg, have been working to strengthen their squad ahead of what promises to be a challenging Allsvenskan campaign. Landing a player with Andersson's background on a deal stretching to 2028 signals clear ambition and a desire to build something lasting rather than simply survive in the top flight.
