Allsvenskan club Västerås SK have reached an agreement to sign central defender Madiou Keita from Belgian second division side RWDM Brussels, according to Expressen.

The defender is no stranger to Swedish football, having spent time on loan at Superettan club Örgryte IS last season where he made nine appearances before returning to his parent club AJ Auxerre in France. Keita subsequently moved to Belgium last summer, joining RWDM Brussels in the Challenger Pro League.

During his time in Belgium's second tier, the centre-back featured in 14 matches for RWDM Brussels. However, he is now set for a return to Swedish football with the agreement in place between the player and Västerås SK.

The deal is subject to Keita passing a medical examination, with an official announcement expected shortly once all formalities are completed. The signing represents Västerås SK's continued efforts to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the upcoming Allsvenskan season.

For Västerås SK, securing Keita's services adds defensive depth to their squad. The club will be hoping his experience across different European leagues, including his previous stint in Swedish football with Örgryte, will prove valuable as they look to establish themselves in Sweden's top flight.
