Club history
BK Häcken were founded in 1940 on the island of Hisingen in Gothenburg. Long considered underdogs in the Gothenburg football scene dominated by IFK and Örgryte, Häcken stunned Sweden by winning their first Allsvenskan title in 2022 under coach Per-Mathias Høgmo. The club has invested heavily in modern football philosophy and youth development, becoming one of Sweden's most progressive clubs. Their new Hisingen Arena reflects the club's growing ambitions.
